In July 2017, I got another chance to return to the beautiful Kincaid House in Milton of Campsie to film Zara & Craig’s wedding. I had worked there several years before doing wedding videography. This was not long after I had started out and I remembered the venue fondly and looked forward to filming there again.

At first hidden from view, the winding, tree lined avenue takes you towards the house. Soon you come face to face with an impressive grade ‘A’ listed building. A substantial part of the present building was reconstructed in the 19th Century. There’s evidence to suggest a house on the same site existed as far back as the 12th Century. With it’s turrets, central staircase, many traditional features and a beautiful garden: it really is a picturesque setting for your big day. And it’s all exclusively yours!

Zara & Craig’s overall theme and colours very much fitted with the time of year. It may seem like we don’t get many great summer days in Scotland but this couple hit the jackpot! The vibrant yellows shown here in the conservatory where the ceremony was held and in the bridal bouquets reminded us of the sunshine we were privy to all day.

With exclusive use, the guests can make their way around the house and out in to the extensive gardens. The couple had thoughtfully made lawn games available for all the kids who were there and needless to say the adults had fun too.

The gardens offer an excellent area for wedding photographs and you’ve also got the front of the house and tree lined avenue too. As the sun sets, you get that golden hour providing beautiful light which softens the look.

I had a fabulous time filming Zara & Craig’s wedding. There were so many details to appreciate on the day. The couple had really thought about their guests and put a lot of effort in to little added extras – caricaturist,  candy cart, ‘selfie’ photobooth, joke nose masks were just some of the wedding extras enjoyed.
