The Alona Hotel, Motherwell

A co-incidence or meant to be? The 4th February continues to be a memorable date for me. In 2011, I was the Wedding Videographer on a wet and windy Winter’s day for a lovely couple at Chatelherault, Hamilton. One year later and I found myself in a similar position although this time I was the Wedding Photographer for another lovely couple at the Silverwells in Bothwell.

To say I was nervous was an under statement. I’m always nervous anyway before a wedding because I know what an important day it is. And when it’s your first time…

The weather was again typical for a February: wet and cold! But despite the weather, it didn’t spoil a great day for Lorraine, Rod and all their family and friends.

This was the first wedding to take place in the Silverwells which is a lovely, intimate venue. Its impressive entrance lends a warm welcome to guests who were well looked after by the attentive staff.

Following the meal, the wedding party moved on to the Alona Hotel in Motherwell for their evening reception. The marquee makes a beautiful backdrop with ample space for friends and family to dance the night away.

Congratulations both and wishing you every happiness for your future together!

Wedding Highlights 2011 Part I

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/36635782]I’ve been lucky enough to have experienced some great personal development training during my working life. I used to work with an employer who believed in developing its people. And over the years, a common trait or an evident part of my personality which came through time and time again was that of being a ‘reflector’. But to be honest I didn’t need training to tell me that. From an early age I’ve always been someone who at some point would take time out to relive and look back at events, experiences and situations.

Having started my business in the latter part of 2010, there has been plenty of opportunity to take stock! I started in the Wedding services industry in February 2011 and over that year I’ve had the pleasure of working with great couples and fellow professionals as well as see first hand the impressive venues chosen for their special day.

Being involved in someone’s wedding is a real privilege and my aim is to do the very best I can for all my clients always. Trying to pick out highlights from those I filmed last year has been extremely challenging.  I’ve enjoyed every one of them (all 41 of them!) and it’s amazing how couples approach their day in so many different ways which makes it unique, beautiful and so personal. Filming the day is like filming a wedding for the first time, every time.

I hope you enjoy the video. It’s part 1 of 2 – I’ve used one of the biggest hits of 2011 performed by one of the most successful female artists in the business.

Mr & Mrs Stewart Wedding Highlights from Lorraine Bhandari on Vimeo.

Lorraine & Thomas were married at St. Mary’s Church in Hamilton on December 27th, 2011. Their reception followed at the Parkville in Blantyre. It was a lovely day, my first Winter wedding although fortunately the weather was extremely kind!

There was a strong Stewart theme going on throughout the day – spot the kilts and of course the Rod Stewart Hit Songs as their table names.

Many congratulations to you and all the best for your future together.
